They also have a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with a wet one in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

It did a great cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was great, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and make more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.
For larger homes, it's worth opting for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home by using the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Also, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would think from its price. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). automated vacuum mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture better. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
